Why This Resource Exists
Ohio provides broad public access to many court and government records, but release information is split among agencies. The Miami County Sheriff's Office maintains county booking and release records. The Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction runs the statewide offender search for people in its custody, released from it, or under Adult Parole Authority supervision. Miami County Adult Probation handles local court supervision, while federal releases use the Bureau of Prisons system. This site organizes those distinct routes without merging them into one misleading result.
The goal is practical: show which official source answers each question, what a live roster can and cannot prove, and how to request a record when no public archive exists. Miami County has two Sheriff jail buildings, which makes that distinction especially important. Movement between the downtown jail and MCIF is not the same as release to the community.
